These terms govern your use of wemeo (“wemeo”, “we”, “us”), a service for discovering communities, places and events in the cities we cover (Romania first, and the markets we have opened since), saving the ones you like, and getting reminders before they start. By using wemeo you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
1. What wemeo is
wemeo helps you discover communities, places and events near you, add the ones you like to your list, and get a reminder before the events you pick start. For the public catalogue we are a directory and a reminder service: those events are run by the communities, places and organisers listed, and we link to their groups, pages and websites. Outings are the exception: those are small, capped experiences hosted by their own organisers through wemeo, some of them ticketed, and section 7 sets out the terms that apply to them.
2. Who operates wemeo
The supplier and operator of Wemeo is identified below. This is also the controller described in the Privacy Policy. Contact: hello@wemeo.com.
Wemeo OÜ · trading as Wemeo Registry / Registru: 17031766 · Estonia Tornimäe tn 3 // 5 // 7, Kesklinna linnaosa, Tallinn, Harju maakond, 10145, Estonia hello@wemeo.comWemeo is the trading name. Any registered company-name change will be reflected after registration is confirmed. / Wemeo este denumirea comercială. Numele societății va fi actualizat după confirmarea înregistrării schimbării.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 to use the discovery service. You must be 18 or older to host an experience or participate in a Wemeo-hosted experience. Confirm this in your Profile before joining; every guest must join through their own account. This is a self-declaration, not identity or age verification. Follow any additional age restrictions set by the organizer or venue. A host may ask to inspect proof of age at arrival; do not send identity documents through the app.
4. Your account
You sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a code sent to your email address. You’re responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for activity that happens under it. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use wemeo for anything unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent;
- harass, spam, impersonate, or abuse other people or communities;
- submit false, misleading, or infringing content;
- scrape, copy, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.
6. Content you submit
When submitting content, confirm you have authority and accept the content licence. You retain ownership. Permission covers catalogue storage, display, resizing and translation. Paid advertising, social campaigns and model training require separate permission. A profile claim does not license earlier copied material. You can request correction, removal or appeal a decision.
7. Outings
An outing is a small, capped meet-up hosted through wemeo rather than listed from an organiser’s own calendar. Some are hosted by members and communities, some by wemeo itself. Some open instantly; some are request-to-join and need approval. When you are in, you get a personal ticket code.
Joining an outing requires a profile photo so the group can recognize you. Your name and photo may be shown to the organizer and participants of that outing. This does not enable public visibility beside saved events or follows. Email is optional unless a particular service needs it.
The outing chat. Every outing has a group chat, visible only to the people on that outing. The acceptable-use rules of section 5 apply to everything you write there: no harassment, no spam, no unlawful content. The organiser of an outing may delete any message in that outing’s chat, and we may remove messages and restrict accounts that break these rules, without notice where warranted. You can report a message directly from the app; reporting keeps a copy of that message together with your report. The chat closes 24 hours after the outing ends, and messages are deleted 14 days after the outing’s date. The chat is for the evening, not a record of it.
- Places are limited. If you can’t make it, cancel in the app so your seat goes to somebody else. Repeated no-shows may cost you access to future outings.
- Take reasonable care when meeting people. Follow the host’s safety instructions and report concerns. An account and adult declaration do not mean a participant has been vetted. We remain responsible for obligations that apply to Wemeo as an organizer or service provider; these terms do not exclude mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- Behave. Harassment, abuse, intimidation or discrimination means removal from the outing and, where warranted, from wemeo, without notice.
- We may change or cancel an outing: weather, the venue, too few people. We’ll tell you as early as we can, at the address on your account.
- Most outings are free to join. Some are ticketed, and those say so, with the exact price, before you commit to anything, and are bought on wemeo.com rather than in the app. Whatever you spend once you are there beyond the ticket (another round, the table) is between you and the venue.
Tickets. Listings may link to an external ticket seller. The link opens that seller’s website, where you review the price, fees and purchase terms. An external purchase does not automatically create a ticket or confirmed seat in Wemeo. Any checkout offered by Wemeo must identify the seller and complete price before payment.
Seller. The seller is the person or entity identified at checkout. For external purchases, the sale and payment are handled by that seller under its terms. For activities Wemeo organizes itself, Wemeo is responsible for its own organizer obligations. Wemeo remains responsible for its own services and applicable mandatory duties.
Cancellation and refunds. For an external purchase, request cancellation or a refund from the seller that collected your payment; its disclosed policy and mandatory consumer rights apply. Wemeo cannot automatically refund that payment. For any purchase collected through Wemeo, the cancellation and refund conditions shown before checkout apply. Existing purchases retain the conditions agreed at purchase. Nothing here limits mandatory remedies for cancellation, non-performance or misdescription.
Withdrawal rights. A leisure service for a specified date or period may be exempt from the 14-day withdrawal right under applicable law. The seller must give the relevant information before purchase. This exception does not remove other mandatory consumer remedies.
If something goes wrong at an outing, tell us at hello@wemeo.com. If somebody is in danger, call the emergency services on 112 first.
8. Messages we send
We send sign-in codes and necessary service, security, legal and outing updates. These may use email or notifications depending on the service. Optional reminders can be switched off. Promotional email requires a separate lawful permission; a public contact address is not treated as marketing consent.
9. Third-party services
wemeo links to and integrates with third-party services (the organisers’ own groups, Instagram pages, ticketing sites and websites). We are not responsible for those services, their content, availability, or their handling of your data. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
10. Disclaimers
wemeo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Event details (times, locations, availability) come from organisers and may change or be inaccurate. Please confirm with the organiser before you go. We don’t guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, wemeo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for events, communities, places, or third parties listed on or linked from the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and nothing here affects the mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We’ll change the “last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
13. Governing law & consumer rights
These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, and disputes are subject to the competent courts of Romania. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
Contact hello@wemeo.com first about a complaint. You may also seek help from your national consumer authority, including ANPC in Romania, TTJA and the Consumer Disputes Committee in Estonia where the procedure applies, or the European Consumer Centres network for cross-border complaints. The former EU online dispute resolution platform has closed; current options are listed on the European Commission consumer redress page. Applicable statutory complaint and court rights remain available.
