Everything about wemeo: how it works, the cities we cover, and how communities, places and festivals get on the map.
Wemeo is where you find what’s alive in your city : the run clubs, jam nights, hiking groups, small venues and festivals already happening around you. Follow what you love, and their events land in your list, and we remind you before the ones you pick. No feed, no noise.
Yes, completely free. No card, no trial, no catch. On wemeo.com you can browse without an account. The iOS app asks you to sign in first, and then everything in it is free to browse, with nothing else to pay or unlock. It asks because everything inside is either yours (your list, your reminders) or names other people (who is coming to an experience, and the group chat).
We started in Bucharest and Cluj and now cover Romania's other large cities too: Brașov, Timișoara, Iași, Sibiu, Constanța, Oradea, growing city by city. Festivals are listed wherever they happen, small towns included. Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Lisbon and Warsaw have opened since and are filling up. Expect a thinner listing there for now.
Communities are groups of people who meet around a passion, usually with a group chat you can join.
Places are venues that host events: galleries, cafés, studios, clubs. No chat; you follow them for what's on.
Festivals are the big multi-day moments of music, film and arts, across the whole country.
Follow any of them and their events land in the same list.
Everything you follow lands in My list, day by day. Tap Remind me on any event and we ping you about two hours before it starts, only for the events you picked. Nothing you didn't ask for.
Yes, every event has a Calendar button that adds it to Apple or Google Calendar, and sharing works everywhere via a plain link.
Tap the event again and switch the reminder off. That’s it. No dark patterns, no “are you sure?” maze.
Add it at community.wemeo.com . It takes a few minutes. Once approved, you run your own page and post your own events, and they instantly reach the locals who follow you.
No. Listing your community, place or festival is free. Reaching your followers is free too.
Yes, events can be linked to a venue, so they appear on your community's page and the venue's page at once, and both audiences see them.
The minimum that makes wemeo work: your name, how to message you, and what you follow. There's no engagement feed, no ad targeting, no selling data. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
A short quiz that sorts you into one of seven animals, based on what you like doing and when you like doing it. It gives you an avatar without asking for a photo, and it is how wemeo suggests events you'd actually enjoy. Entirely optional. Skip it and nothing else changes.
Small meet-ups hosted through wemeo rather than listed from an organiser's own calendar: some by members, some by communities, some by wemeo itself, and capped so it stays a table rather than a crowd. Some open instantly, some need approval, and you get a ticket code once you're in. To join you need a face other people can recognise (a photo or your city animal) and an email we can reach you at, because plans change. The Terms set out the rest.
Yes, Profile → show my picture, off. You're still counted among the people going or following, but your face is never shown to anyone, and your own screens stop showing it in those rows too. If you've taken the quiz, your city animal takes its place.
Yes, Profile → delete account removes your account and your data. If anything's unclear, write to us and we'll handle it personally.
We're real people and we answer: hello@wemeo.com.
On the web you can look around first. In the app, signing in comes first.
